World Poker Game comes to PSP

Poker fans will soon be able to get to grips with the game from the comfort of their games console as 'World Poker Tour' hits the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) in the spring. Players can choose from a selection of real-life professional stars of the poker world including Antonio "the Magician" Esfandiari, Erick Lindgren, Evelyn Ng, Lyle Berman, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi and Phil "Unabomber" Laak. But there will also be more than 1,200 screen characters available each with their own quirks who can be dressed in different clothing styles. Additionally, players they will also be able to customise their chosen character as they put their skills to the test in lifelike venues. And once players have got to grips with the single player game, they will be able to take on their friends or go online to play against others from across the country who have PlayStation 2 compatibility. Greg Thomas, president of development studio Visual Concepts, said: "With the growing popularity of televised poker shows such as World Poker Tour, poker has become a mainstream sport. "By partnering with the trusted World Poker Tour brand, we are bringing both gamers and poker fans alike the most realistic poker experience available. And now that 'World Poker Tour' will be available on the PSP, gamers can enjoy the game wherever they go." World Poker Tour will also be available for the PlayStation2, Xbox and GameBoy Advance.
