Online blackjack the new online poker

A new online blackjack game is set to be the next "killer" gaming application, following the unprecedented success of online poker, according to its producers.
Zone4Play has completed the development of its multiplayer blackjack tournament application, which it hopes will captivate the online gaming community in the same way online poker has over the last three years.
Idan Miller, spokesman for Zone4Play said: "We are extremely excited about the potential growth of Blackjack as a multi-player online gaming application.
"Clearly, multiplayer poker has driven tremendous growth in terms of online gaming penetration and we see no reason why blackjack will not replicate this success."
Rather than playing against the house, the company's online version features 24-hour multiplayer abilities, allowing the most skilful player to win as users battle against each other.
Multi-table tournaments of five-player tables can then be organised, leading to more exciting games and bigger jackpot prizes, according to the company.
A prototype for the system has received wide praise from potential clients, and Zone4Play hopes to initiate the gaming technology in early 2006.
