Omaha Hold'em

Texas Hold'em is the most popular form of poker played by people in all casinos around the world. Omaha Hold'em poker is a slightly different form of Texas Hold'em. Omaha Hold'em itself is of four types. It can be played either high or high low both. The game can have a fixed limit or can be played with no limit.
Omaha is played with five cards and four rounds of betting. The smallest bet that can be placed is one dollar for a limited version of the game. One person is nominated the dealer and he enjoys the advantage of playing last. The dealer sits with a rotating switch in front and this is turned after every hand. All players have to place a bet in the beginning of the game to contribute to the prize. This is called a blind bet.
The game begins with the person to the left of the dealer making a tiny wager that is half the requisite amount. Next, the person seated to the left of the first bet makes a bigger wager of two dollars. One must remember that the switch makes it possible for every participant to make the first bet, second bet and to act as the dealer at some point in the hand. A person therefore bets three dollars every time in one hand.
The betting round is followed by distribution of cards. The dealer gets the last card and the person making the first bet gets the first card. In the first round the person seated to the left of the big blind can match the bet or double the bet or leave the game. Every player does this until the person making the big blind bet is reached. In case no one has doubled the bet, the dealer gives this person the option to double the bet or leave it as it is.
After this, the dealer removes the first card from the deck. Next, the dealer exposes three cards called community cards that can be used by any of the players. This action is termed the flop. The next round of betting continues and the least amount that can be bet is the same as the first round.
After the flop, the dealer discards another top card from the deck and exposes another card for all the players. This action is termed the turn. The betting amount after the turn now increases to four dollars and another round of betting continues.
After the turn, the dealer throws away the top card and removes a fifth card for all the players. This action is called the river and the final round of betting takes place. During this, the bets are increased several times the minimum amount of four dollars. At the end of the game the hands of all players are compared. A player has to use three cards from the community cards and two of his cards to make a good hand. If no player has the best hand then the prize is divided among all the players as per their cards.
One must be aware of the good cards that create a winning hand in Omaha Hold'em poker. To make a flush one must have two cards of that coat in hand and then use three cards from the community cards to get the proper sequence. The same rule of using one's cards and the community cards applies for every other combination like pairs or three of a kind.
In the high low variation, a person has to make two sequences of higher than eight and lower than eight to get a winning combination. Thus, Omaha Hold'em is an interesting poker variation that can be learned with practice and concentration. One must master this game since it is the most accepted form of poker played in casinos all over the world.
