The minimum number of players is two while the maximum number of players is 22. It is normally a game with around ten players.

Dealer deals two facedown cards to each player. These cards are showdown cards. Players place their bets. Dealer thereafter deals another card, which is burn card. Again, dealer deals three community cards face up.

The second betting round takes place. After this, dealer deals another burn card and a community card. There are two or three betting rounds thereafter. Lastly, showdown or the final hand takes place. If all other players fold, the lone betting player is the winner. Prize money is the money in the pot.

Main Goal of the Game

The main aim of the game is to win the pot. The pot contains the bet money of all players, including you. You can win the pot by forming either the best poker hand of your seven cards or by betting to such an extent that other players have to fold and leave the game abandoning the pot for you to win.

Game Rules

Although basic game rules remain the same at different land and online casinos, some offer certain variations and changes. Therefore, check at the casino before starting to play your game of Texas Hold'em. You can adopt different strategies and tips to enhance your winning odds.

Betting Limits

Normally, betting is according to a fixed limit and two more blinds. A small bet is the limit for the first two rounds of betting. Big bet is that of the third and fourth betting rounds. Big bet is normally the double of the small bet amount.

Small blind is half of the small bet. Big Blind is equal to the small bet. You can view the small blind to the left of the dealer and the big blind is to the left of the small blind. Fourth bet is larger than the other bets. Big blind is less than the small bet.

In no-limit hold'em games, you can wager all your chips at a time. This is all-in wager. A player could lose a pot but can win one or more side pots. If two players win the pot as they share the best playing hand, they divide the pot equally.
